The sales area in Sanya stood at 734,800 square meters in the first half of 2013, a slight year-on-year increase of 1.4%, according to a report released by the Sanya Municipal Government.

Figures released show that，in the first half of 2013, the sales area of commodity housing in Sanya was 704,200 square meters, a year-on-year increase of 1.03%. However, the sales area of government-subsidized housing stood 30,600 square meters, a sharp decline of 91.9% compared to the same period of last year. 
 
According to the report, growth of home sales is expected to slow down slightly in the second half year due to recent housing price control polices launched by the State Council and bank rise control measures. 
 
The real estate sector accounts for a large part of Sanya’s economy. 
 
Officials from the government say Sanya will strive to achieve healthy, sustainable and steady development of its real estate sector.
