Sanya has tightened its supervision over the transportation of dogs and cats recently, according to reports.

According to the new regulations, quarantine certificates are required for each dog or cat before they are allowed to be transported.

The move aims to tighten the control of infectious diseases among animals and prevent diseases carried by animals being passed on to human beings, according to the Sanya Animal Health Inspection Station.

Keepers of dogs or cats also required to apply for quarantine inspections three days ahead of the transportation of dogs and cats.
