At the 2014 SKYTRAX World’s Best Airport Awards show in Sanya, Skytrax, the world’s renowned air travel rating and review institution, announced that Haikou Meilan Airport’s international terminal was named the 2nd Skytrax ‘5-Star Terminal’ in China and 6th in the world this year.

Built in 2011, the new international terminal involves a total space of 13,200 sqm with a low-carbon, green-growth concept aimed at preserving the environment.

Since Meilan Airport took part in the star-rating program of Skytrax in 2013, it has been constantly improving the hardware and software of the airport to improve all aspects of passenger experience.

Now, visitors additionally can have free access to the Wi-Fi network, mini Internet cafes, multimedia phones and cinemas. The passengers traveling via Meilan Airport will also enjoy Hainan specialty candies, festive greetings and other special services.
