Direct flights between Haikou and Kaohsiung will be re-launched from July 8th, according to an announcement in Haikou from the Taiwan Far Eastern Air Transport Company on Tuesday.

Taiwan is one of the largest outbound tourist source markets for Hainan. Since direct flights from Kaohsiung to Haikou were first launched in January 2012, thousands of Taiwanese tourists have traveled to Hainan, and the resumption of direct flights is expected to help bolster the number of tourists to Hainan from Taiwan.

After their resumption, direct flights between the two cities will run every Tuesday and Saturday.

The flights will depart from Kaohsiung at 4:00pm and arrive in Haikou at 6:05pm, and the return flights will depart from Haikou at 7:05pm and arrive in Kaohsiung at 9:00pm.
