A woman was beheaded by her husband on the street on June 28 in Sanya, a city in China’s most southern province Hainan, reports Nanhai, a Hainan-based news website.
The police received a report in the morning that a woman was killed with her head cut off by a man in Sanya. The man ran away after the decapitation and was arrested after a few hours in a small restaurant.
The man is surnamed Dong, 36, who said he was the woman’s husband. She left home with the three children they had and also took away their savings a year ago. Dong has been feeling angry and looking for them. On June 28, he ran into his wife, who was looking at an advertisement board beside a supermarket. Dong then ended her life with a knife he had with him.
