Sanya Phoenix International Airport and Sanya Phoenix Island International Cruise Terminal recently successfully passed the national assessment of the AQSIQ (General Administration of Quality Supervision).

They are Hainan's second batch of national ports which boast WHO (the world health organization) port core capacity and are certified as meeting the construction standards of the International Health Regulations (2005), after Haikou Meilan International airport.

The WHO port core capacity refers to adequate public health capacities of WHO Member States at airports, ports and ground crossings in both normal circumstances and when responding to events that may constitute a public health emergency.

The International Health Regulations (IHR) is an international legal agreement that is binding on 194 States Parties across the globe, including all of the Member States of the WHO.
