Sanya simplifies travel procedures for booming cruise industry

Sanya has expended great efforts into developing its cruise economy over the years.

On June 18th, The Costa Atlantica, the 85,000-tonage luxury cruise ship, called at the Sanya Phoenix International Cruise Terminal, the biggest and most luxurious international luxury cruise ship to do so since the terminal went into service in 2007.

To promote the development of the cruise tourism industry, the frontier inspection station in Sanya has new clearance systems to simplify cruise travel procedures for cruise passengers.

In the first half of this year, the number of cruise ships berthing at and departing from Sanya reached more than 170, carrying over 100,000 passengers, an increase of 49% and 28% year-on-year respectively.
