According to the monthly meeting on the progress of cultural industry projects on June 27th, the Sanya 'Tianya Sleepless city' project is expected to open to tourists and residents in mid-to-late September.

By now, the related facilities of the project, including the Qianguqing Grand Theater, Yazhou Ancient City Cultural Theme Park and conference hotel have been completed, and the decoration of the Grand Theater has been almost finished.

After it is completed, the project will combine theme park with cultural perfomances and a wide variety of other entertainment, and a great many large song and dance theatrical performances spanning Sanya’s diverse cultures will be staged at the Grand Theater.

Within the year, the Sanya government is also set to kick off the construction of the second phase of the ‘Tianya Sleepless City’ project, a large water park, the drawing design of which has been completed.

In addition, the Bafang cultural exhibition center project, which is located at Tongjing Village in Fenghuang Town and will consist of an ethnic exhibition hall, an Asian exhibition center for International Fashion Week and a cultural exchange center, is expected to start construction by the end of 2013, according to the meeting.
