The part of the sewer separation project taking place on Wanmao Road has been completed, according to a source.

The sewage treatment pipe on Wanmao road covers a total of 480 meters, and separates storm drains from the sewage pipes in order to prevent overloading of the sewer system during heavy rains.

The sewer separation projects taking place around other roads, including Sanya Bay Road, Jinjiling Road, Youyi Road and Jixiang Road and around the Sanya River area, are still under construction. The whole project is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year.

The new sewage system will allow wastewater to flow from existing drainage and be collected for treatment before being discharged into major bodies of water.
