The Lizhigou area of Sanya is to be built into an urban gateway district of the city, according to a detailed plan for Lizhigou area in Sanya released by local media on June 18th.

The new urban gateway district has a total planning area of about 676 hectares, stretching from Lizhigou Road and Lizhigou Community in the south to Hainan Ring Expressway in the north, and from Dong’an Road and Baopo Village in the west to Xueyuan Road and Fengtang Village in the east.

It will consist of four parts; the integrated service area in the northwest, the science and education zone in the northeast, the urban comprehensive functional area in the southwest and the commercial and residential zone in the southeast.
