Starting from June 21st, Sanya will launch a 24-hour inspection on the fishing boats at the city’s fishing ports and the campaign will last till the end of this year.

The fishing boats registered outside Sanya are not allowed to enter the city’s in-port areas. Besides, local fishing boats are required to call at the designated locations.

Currently, over 600 fishing vessels from other provinces and overseas regions such as Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan as well as other counties and cities of Hainan including Lingao, Danzhou and Ledong working on the city’s in-port water areas.

The cleanup of the fishing vessels will not only improve the sea water environment of the city’s ports but also make way for the hosting of some major international water sports events.
