WPT National China to be held in Sanya in November

The World Poker Tour (WPT) has released the first half of its Season XII schedule. Throughout the season, which will last from August to December, the WPT will tour four continents. Besides, the WPT has signed an agreement with FOX Sports Network, according to the terms of which televised WPT events will be distributed right through 2017.
Adam Pliska, president of the WPT, said: “Our strategy of global expansion is now being fully realized. From 18 events in Season VIII to nearly 60 Main Tour, Regional, and National events in Season XI, World Poker Tour will provide FSN with nearly 100 hours of original programming over the course of this agreement. With the greater support and distribution that our new deal provides, World Poker Tour is now guaranteed to make up a major share of the best-in-class, U.S. television poker real estate for years to come.”
David Sussin, vice president of FOX Sports Network, said that the network is thrilled to become a partner of WPT for three years. Stating that the WPT has delivered a record number of viewers during its two previous seasons, he said that this is a testament to the show’s consistent quality and the WPT’s position as the premier poker programming provider in the world.
The WPT’s twelfth season, which will be sponsored by ClubWPT.com, will begin on August 16, 2013. The first stop will be at the Merit Crystal Cove Casino in Cyprus, after which the WPT will visit several places in North America, Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean throughout this year.
Matt Savage, executive tour director for the WPT, said that he is very proud of the WPT’s achievements over the past few years. He voiced his opinion that the WPT’s expansion worldwide and its new schedule will make it more important than ever for the brand to supply players and partners the ultimate poker experience at every stop.
Here are some of the highlights of WPT XII. The WPT Montreal, which has a buy-in of C$3,850, will be held at Playgound Poker Club Quebec in Canada.
