Sanya is stepping up the reconstruction of the wastewater separation project in the Sanya River and Sanya Bay areas, and the project is expected to be completed and put into use in June 2014.

The project aims to achieve rain and sewage separation, and a new 22.73-kilometer main sewer and a 395-meter rain pipe will be built in 4 road sections of the Hedong and Hexi districts. The government will arrange for workers to clean the 10,373-meter rain pipe.

In addition, a 22.2-kilometer sewer will be built in 12 road sections and the 0.85-kilometer sewer rebuilt in 4 road sections of Sanya Bay.

Moreover, in the New City Road of Sanya Bay, a new 1,632-meter rain pipe will be built, a 3,032-meter rain pipe which doesn’t fulfil requirements will be rebuilt and an 11.6-kilometer rain pipe will be cleaned.

So far, in the Sanya Bay area 45 working wells, 1,650-meters of sewage pipes and 2,150-meters of rain piping have been finished.
