A food delegation led by the Sanya Tourism Development Commission was invited to attend the first World Street Food Congress held in Singapore from May 31- June 9, 2013.

The 10-day mega street food fiesta featured over 35 street food masters from 10 countries: Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, India, Vietnam, China, Mexico, the United States and Denmark.

Food showcased from Sanya included three of the most well-known street snacks amongst locals: Baoluo Rice Noodles, Gangmen Rice Noodles and Lingshui Sour Rice Noodles.

The World Street Food Congress is the first of its kind in the world which celebrates the beloved street food culture, and also aims to preserve traditional street food heritage, professionalize and create new possibilities in the industry
