Sanya and the China Southern Power Grid Comprehensive Energy Co. (CSPGCEC) signed a strategic agreement on June 3rd to promote Sanya an international low-carbon resort destination.

Under the agreement, the city will work with CSPGCEC to optimize the use structure of energy and develop a recycling economy to make Sanya a national new-energy demo city and clean energy base.

Priority will be given to solar energy, wind power, distributed energy resources and other types of new energy. Both parties will mutually explore combining renewable energy, distributed-energy resources and energy grids.

Meanwhile, since Sanya has potential to develop solar and wind energy technology, China Southern Power Grid will apply it to new public construction projects, achieving maximum energy savings and becoming more environmentally friendly.
