Sanya has been actively implementing low-carbon initiatives as part of city’s plan to minimize the environmental impact of tourism, in an effort to make it an international resort destination.

Scenic spots are jumping on the low carbon bandwagon. A green action, ecological parking lots construction, has been launched at most scenic spots which aims to make up for the emissions caused by all the cars that park in them.

Besides, the initiatives include controlling the number of tourists to the scenic area, encouraging the use of large-scale sightseeing buses and encouraging exploration on foot instead of by car.

Hotels have been a specific focus of the government’s green and low-carbon schemes, mainly through the implementation of energy-saving technologies and ecological architecture.

Like Eadry Resort Sanya, most 5-star hotels have promoted the adoption of green environmental building materials, and making full use of natural resources to reduce environmental damage, such as by focusing on energy-efficient lighting and reducing water usage.
