Sewer separation project under construction in Sanya Bay
A new sewage treatment facility is currently under construction at Sanya Bay, and is expected to be finished at the end of this year.
The sewer separation project is divided into two systems-one for sewage and one for rainwater.
The construction is mainly centered at Sanya Bay Road, Jinjiling Road, Youyi Road and Jixiang Road.
The pipe for sewage treatment runs for a total length of 3,547 meters and the other one for rainwater collection stretches 7,519 meters.
Upon its completion, the operation of the sewage collecting network is expected to greatly reduce pollution at the mouth of Sanya Bay, which has become a major outlet for Sanya’s waste water
