The latest figures released by Sanya Haitang Bay Management Committee have shown a 53.45% growth in tourist arrivals this April compared to April 2012.

The increase in the number of tourist arrivals certainly confirms the effectiveness of the local committee’s marketing campaign to promote Haitang Bay as an appealing tourism destination by launching the reward policy.

In April, Haitang Bay received a total of 1,660,000 tourists and a 20.7% increase was recorded for hotel occupancy in the region. Meanwhile, the revenue of hotels and scenic spots generated by it was up 10.14% compared with the same period of the year before.

It is one of the biggest rewarding measures launched by local government to encourage tourist-related enterprises to explore the tourist market in the off season. The government will expand the coverage of the reward, including rewards on individual exhibitions and for the largest MICE groups.
