On the evening of May 21st, Sanya’s Deputy Mayor Gu Jingqi met with a 13-person delegation from Malaysia (Hainan) Wanning Association led by President Datuk Wu Shi Cai at the Sanya Shanhaitian Hotel.

Mr. Gu warmly welcomed the delegation and explained the development of Sanya’s economy and society, and said that he and the president Mr. Wu have enjoyed a good relationship for many years. He said that he expected the association to forge closer ties and cooperation with Sanya and promote common development.

The president Mr. Wu said that he was deeply impressed by the fast changes and rapid development of the hometown, and he added that this visit was to prepare for the 1st World Wanning Convention which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia next year.

According to the introduction, there are five Hainanese associations in Malaysia including Wanning, (Wanning) Xuelong, Bingcheng, (Wanning) Maliujia, (Wanning) Laifu and Mapo Qiongya Donglu.
