According to the Sanya Price Control Bureau, a proposal for the bus fare increase has been approved and a specific date for the price adjustment implementation and prepaid IC cards promotion is to be announced later.

Under the proposal, the basic bus fare will be raised from one yuan to two yuan per person.

Last March, the government held a public hearing and a total of 29 representatives from all circles attended the hearing to discuss the bus fare hike.

Besides, relevant departments are working on a detailed plan for the promotion of prepaid IC cards to make the fare increase reasonable and acceptable for the public.
