Sanya sees over 3.47 million tourists in Q1 of 2013
Sanya saw a total of 3.47 million tourist arrivals in the first quarter, a year-on-year increase of 7.2%, according to statistics released by the city's statistics bureau on Tuesday.
In the first quarter of this year, Sanya saw a strong increase in tourism revenue. Tourism revenue reached 8.62 billion yuan, a 24.3% of increase year-on-year.
Of the 3.47 million tourist arrivals, 3.32 million domestic tourist arrivals brought in 8.134 billion yuan of tourist income, a year-on-year increase of 25.2%. Besides, 156,700 inbound tourist arrivals brought in 76.93 million U.S. dollars, a year-on-year rise of 11%.
Besides, the city’s hotel occupancy rate in the first quarter was 67.2%, a 3.3% decline year-on-year.
