Sanya public beaches banned from being used as private property
Waterfront hotels in Sanya are not allowed to use public beach sections for business or monetary gain, according to new regulations on Hainan coastline management which took effect on May 1st, 2013.
Hotels along the coastline of Yalong Bay, Dadonghai and Sanya Bay have not been found to have the beach fenced-off and deliberately converted into private property.
Many tourists surveyed said they were able to visit the city’s beaches and were not told that only hotel guests were permitted access.
Besides, the regulation states that for the man-made waterfront building, the shoreline receding for a considerable distance should reach more than 200 meters.
