After years of effort, Sanya has become a world-class resort and it has the potential to become a popular destination for leisure agriculture.

So far, the city has 16 leisure agricultural and rural tourism zones. Rural tourism attracts more than 200,000 tourists annually resulting in total revenue of 200 million yuan.

At present, 7 sites in Sanya have been rated as provincial leisure agricultural demonstration bases including Nantian Ecological Grandview Garden, Orchid World, Little Fish Hotspring, Yalong Bay International Rose Valley, providing leisure agriculture and additional rural tourist recreation sites for visitors and residents in the city.

The city features abundant tropical fruits plantation zones, primitive tropical forests, a large-scale hot spring and 572 ecological villages in Hainan.

Relevant departments are working on supportive policies to better guide the development of the city’s leisure agriculture and rural tourism industry
