Sanya saw an influx of tourists at major scenic spots during the 3-day May Day holiday and the Nanshan Tourism Zone has received a total of 35,300 visitors, becoming the most-visited tourist attraction in Hainan.

The implementation of a toll-free policy for small passenger cars (with less than 7 seats) during major holidays also boosted the short-distance travel to Hainan. Statistics showed over 4,600 self-driving vehicles from all around China flocked to Nanshan.

Nanshan has joined the 28 scenic spots to lower ticket prices to attract more tourists during the off-season (May 1st to September 30th). Price for admission has lowered from RMB150 yuan to RMB121 per person.
