The Sanya government is cooperating with the Sanya E-bike Association to offer discount programs to encourage e-bike replacement.

The replacement program will start from April 29 to May 1st, 2013 at the bridgehead of Yuechuan Bridge and Yangguang Building in Yinbing Road. Besides, residents can apply for licenses for their trade-in for free with their ID cards or temporary residence permits.

On March 15, the downtown center along with four other areas, are limited to the use of motorcycles.

Starting from April 1, e-bikes that do not meet national standards are not allowed on certain public roads, according to temporary rules on the management of e-bikes issued by local authorities.

Currently, over 100,000 e-bikes have failed to comply with the current national standards, which pose a potential threat to road traffic safety.

All the currently owned e-bikes and motorcycles will be sold at 1,000 yuan under the trade-in program and more than a thousand e-bikes from 10 e-bike brands are included the replacement campaign.
