Traditional Li Brocade Training Institution opens in Sanya
The unveiling ceremony of the Traditional Li Brocade Training Institution was launched at the Sanya Advanced Technique School in Lizhigou area on April 24th, 2013.
The training base, which starts trial operation in May 2011, has attracted 50 students who are interested in the traditional skill of Li People each semester.
The whole design of the training institution is based on the traditional culture and living custom of Li people, which covers an area of 680 square meters.
It is also a multifunctional educational center to show the long history and unique ethnic culture of Li people with pictures, patterns, models and actual items.
The Li brocade has been listed as the world’s intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO in 2009.
