By 2020, Sanya’s gross ocean production is expected to hit RMB30 billion, which accounts for around 37% of the GDP of the whole city.

Sanya has a unique advantage in its marine economy with a total maritime area of 3,500 square kilometers, a total coastline of 259 km, 72 islands and rich tropical marine tourist resources.
