The Hainan agricultural department has released the second batch of 35 provincial leisure agricultural demonstration bases and Sanya has three sites on the list. To date, the total number of leisure agricultural model bases in Hainan has reached 68.

The new list covers a number of different themed leisure agriculture and rural tourist attractions. The 3 scenic sites on the list are Nantian Ecological Grandview Garden, Yalong Bay International Rose Valley and Sanya Nongken Garden.

In recent years, the Sanya Government has attached great importance to developing its leisure agriculture and rural tourism. In 2011, Sanya Nantian Hotspring Resort, Sanya Binlanghe International Rural Culture Village, Orchid World and Tianya Lake Leisure Agricultural Sightseeing Garden have been awarded the title.
