According to the Haikou government, 120 public bicycle rental outlets will be put into service by the end of this June and the construction on a total of 300 service sites across the city will be finished by the end of this year.

The first batch of 105 public bicycle rental spots were put into use last June, offering 3,000 public bicycles to provide clean transport service to its residents.

Besides, the application for the third phase of the 75 new public bicycle rental outlets has been submitted to the relevant department for final approval.

Under the plan, more than 10,000 bikes will be in use in Haikou to boost the use of public transport in the city.

Residents can use the bikes free for the first hour, and pay 1 yuan for every hour afterward. As of this April, the government has issued over 20,000 bicycle-borrowing cards.
