Atkins unveils design of new beach hotel & residential complex in Sanya
UK-based design and project management consultancy Atkins has unveiled the design of a new beach hotel and residential complex in Sanya, China.
The new 97,000 square metre project includes the creation of a 38,000 square metre five star hotel, and residential complex with sea-side views and private beach in the Chinese city of Sanya.
To be constructed in an undeveloped part of the coastline, the new project will be designed with open views, rich landscape and privacy. Taking inspiration from marine sea shells and waves, the building and facilities will seamlessly integrate with the landscape. Blurring the line between indoor and outdoor, the new project will be designed to celebrate the tropical life.
The scope of work includes development of the concept design, schematic design and landscaping. The project is centered on seashell-like curvaceous buildings and strategically placed landscaped platforms that terrace towards the sea, which will optimise beach views for the hotel guests and the private residences.
Including the apartments, hotel resort facilities and the beach front, the project will feature a wide landscaped corridor that runs along the main axis of the site. Five distinct landscape zones will be created for ceremony, leisure, family relaxing, villa gardens and waterfront beach.
The Autographic Collection hotel will feature 300 rooms and supporting amenities like a ballroom, a Chinese restaurant, a Western restaurant and spa facilities.
