Detailed plans to make the city bike friendly by creating a network of slow lanes and trails at its three coastal roads were recently released by the Sanya urban planning committee.

The slow lanes will be constructed along the road sides of the three road sections, namely Sanya Bay Road, Yinbing Road-Yalong Bay Road and Nanbianhai Road.

Biking trail 1: Sanya Bay Road

The road, about 15.7 kilometers long, is an energetic coastal router, including a south section and north section to realize the separation of biking and walking trails to meet the leisure demands of pedestrians and cyclists.

The south section, from the Military Airport to the intersection of Guangming Road, about 6.2 km, will be divided into three sections including Military Airport-Blue Coastline route, Blue Coastline route- Haiyue Square route and Haiyue Square-Guangming Road route.

Biking trail 2: Yinbing Road-Yalong Bay Road

Covering 21 kilometers long in total, this road is a green countryside corridor and will have 7 sections linking coastline road (Yinbing Road), Yuechuan Bridge, Hongzhou Jiayuan, Jiyang Round-the-Island Road (Jiyang Haundao Road), Yalong Bay Intersection and Anyou Intersection.

Biking trail 3: Nanbianhai Road

The Nanbianhai Road, which spans a total length of 9 km, will start from the Yuya Avenue, passing by Marina Spa Hotel Sanya, Nanbianhai coastal road, Luhuitou State Guesthouse & Resort and Luhuitou sea view avenue, which grants bicycle tourists beautiful sea views and mountain landscape along their journey.
