Hainan’s first vertical marathon kicks off in Haikou
Hainan’s first vertical marathon was kicked off in the 200-meter-tall Tianyi International Building of Haikou on May 3rd, 2014.
According to the report, the marathon attracted 50 runners from 10 countries and regions all over the world. Among the participants, the oldest runner is 50 years-old and the youngest is 19 years-old.
All the participants competed in this vertical course which comprised 1,710 steps starting from the entrance of Tianyi International Building to the finishing point on the 45th floor.
The fastest runner was a Japanese student studying at Hainan University, who completed the race in 5 minutes and 37 seconds
