Sanya to offer subsidies to encourage units to open restrooms to the public
The city government is rolling out a new subsidy policy to encourage social units to open their restrooms to the public for free in order to ease the city's shortage of public restrooms, according to a statement from the Sanya Garden and Sanitation Administration on 2nd April.
The government has built another 50 public toilets in urban areas since 2010 and is encouraging social institutions to open their restrooms to the public by giving out special subsidies to them.
Interested institutions can contact the city’s garden and sanitation administration before April 19 and the subsidy support will be available for units that pass the assessments launched by the administration in sanitation, facilities, management and openness at the end of the year.
Qualified institutions will receive subsidies of 3,000 yuan to 6,000 yuan every year.
