According to the local urban planning bureau, Sanya is planning to reconstruct the city’s roads to include slow-traffic routes. After their completion, residents and tourists will be able to enjoy the city’s beautiful sceneries featuring beach, sea and mountain by bike.

According to the proposal, the four road sections, namely Sanya Bay Road, Yinbing Road-Yalong Bay Road and Nanbianhai Road will soon include slow lanes for those who prefer to use pedal-power to get around.

Five experts and related authority departments have been working together to put into action specific plans to enforce construction of the city’s slow-traffic transport.

The Sanya Bay Road section, which starts from the Military Airport and runs to the intersection of Guangming Road covering a total length of 6.2 km, will be turned into a special area set aside for bicycles and pedestrians.

The Yinbing Road-Yalong Bay Road, which spans a total of 21 km from Haiyue Square to the Yalong Bay Underwater World, will allow tourists to appreciate more areas of the city by lowering the time needed to travel between urban green landscapes and coastal sceneries.

The Nanbianhai Road, which spans a total length of 9 km from Yuya Avenue to Luhuitou Seaside Avenue, will let bicycle trourists enjoy beautiful sea view and mountain landscape along the cycling journey
