14 Sanya tour agencies promoted Sanya tourism products at the Moscow International Tourism Tradeshow (MITT) held annually in Moscow, Russia on March 20.

Sanya, the only tourism city which has an independent pavilion at the event to promote itself, received 146,900, 225,400 and 189,600 Russian tourists in 2010, 2011 and 2012 respectively, which accounts for 46.9%, 54.9%, 53.6% of Sanya’s entire overseas tourists market.

The 3-day MITT 2013, with over 3,000 participating companies from 30 regions of Russia and 189 countries including China, Brazil, Mexico, the United States and Singapore, ran until March 23, when Sanya delegation held three Sanya tourism product promotion conferences in Moscow, Yalta City and Kiev, capital of Ukraine.

MITT is Russia’s leading and largest travel exhibition and it is the key meeting place for the industry and an opportunity to catch up with colleagues and clients. In addition, it enables participants to increase awareness of their destination, gain a real feel for the Russian travel market and gauge demand for their services. 2013 marks MITT’s 20th anniversary, held since 1994, and in that time the event has become the main industry forum for travel professionals.
