China’s Haikou Hainan Meilan International Airport passenger numbers are up nearly 11 percent in March. 1.2 million passengers passed through the airport in March of 2014, a 10.5% increase year-on-year. 20,791 tonnes of cargo was processed by the airport, a 10.4% increase year-on-year. Aircraft movements also increased by nearly 10 percent over last March’s numbers.

In the first quarter of 2014 4.4 million passengers travelled through Haikou’s airport, a 23.9% increase over the first quarter of 2013, and 70,451 tonnes of cargo were transported, a 16.6% increase. Aircraft movements in the first quarter of 2014 increased by over 20% compared to the first quarter of last year.
