A trial helicopter flight was held in Haikou on the morning of March 26, officially kicking off the city’s flight sightseeing tourism in low-altitude airspace.

The helicopters are operated by the Hainan Sanya Yalong General Aviation Co, which is the only company approved by the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China to operate flight tours in Hainan.

Currently, the helicopter tour routes basically encompass the main attractions in Haikou, in-cluding Evergreen Park, Holiday Beach, Haikou Volcanic Cluster Global Geopark Nandu River, Guilinyang and Haikou Century Bridge.

Prices for sightseeing tours above Evergreen Park and Holiday Beach are primarily set at 500 yuan and 1,500 yuan per person, respectively.

At present, seven Robinson R44 light helicopters manufactured by the Robinson Helicopter Company are at service for low altitude sightseeing tours and another 5 helicopters will be put into service this June.
