The Sanya government is looking for an effective mechanism to regulate the diving tourism market which has been out of order for a long time.

The diving sector in Sanya tourism is regarded as one of the charming and attractive tourist products. There are 13 regions across the island that have been confirmed as suitable areas to develop diving activities. Apart from the Boundary Island, the rest are located in Sanya.

The lack of a centrally responsible department to manage the sector has led to complaints and reports of tourist traps and customers being ripped off.

A joint conference system led by the Sanya Tourism Development Commission will be soon set up to carry out plans on major diving tourism issues and establish a new and effective mechanism to regulate the diving tourism market.
