According to the Sanya Transport Bureau, the total traffic volume in major scenic spots and roads generally exceeded the figure recorded during the last Spring Festival. During the 2013 Chinese New Year, the daily average traffic volume on the roads in Dadonghai area reached 57,000.

Sanya traffic police placed great importance on issues of traffic order, deploying 672 police vehicles and 3,090 traffic policemen to monitor the roads. No major traffic accidents were reported during holiday period.

During the travel peak, the number of vehicles travelling to Nanshan and Tianyahaijiao was 63,000 and 37,000 respectively.

The government began to widen the roads in the Dadonghai area, which is considered an important area for the flow of traffic through the city, before the holiday.
