Sanya remains the most popular tourist city in China with its warm climate and top air quality, which is in sharp contrast to the many cities in China which are experiencing heavy fog and bitterly cold weather.

According to the statistics, 328 flights departed from and arrived at Sanya Phoenix International Airport with a total passenger throughput of 48,436 on Jan.26 alone, and more than 310 flights are expected to depart from and arrive at the airport during the Spring Festival travel peak (the period from Jan.26 to March 6).

At present, the number of international and domestic tourists flocking into Sanya every day is still climbing, but most of them are individual travelers for family tours or honeymoons, and few for MICE tourism due to the more restrained spending promoted by the central government and the coming of the spring festival holiday.

The occupancy rate of most top-end hotels in Sanya has reached over 80%, and in one hot spring Resort in Haitang Bay, the rate even reached over 95%

Besides, bookings for private tours are very healthy, with tourists mainly from Beijing, Shanghai and China's northeast and northwest.
