A credit-coded grading system will be launched for Sanya seafood restaurants ahead of the Spring Festival holiday as part of a long-term plan to better regulate the sector and steer visitors towards the more reputable seafood restaurants in the city.

Under the plan, seafood restaurants and stalls will be issued one of 4 levels of accreditation: long-term trustworthy, trustworthy, slightly untrustworthy and seriously untrustworthy.

During the holiday, the inspection team will conduct inspections at seafood restaurants with ratings below the level-III standardization at least twice every day and the results will be released on the official website for the public’s information.

According to the authorities, the system will help to establish rules designed to encourage restaurant owners and managers to perfect, or at least improve, the quality of services rendered to local residents and tourists
