Xiamen is the third most popular tourist destination in China for the upcoming New Year’s holiday.

According to the latest data provided by a leading travel portal in China, Hong Kong came out top nationwide based on hotel reservations , followed by Sanya, Xiamen, Beijing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Lijiang, Harbin, Macau, Chengdu, Kunming, Dalian, Qingdao, Dali, Guilin, Shenyang and Xishuangbanna.

As one of the hot tourist destinations in China, Xiamen is pushing forward the transformation and diversification of its tourism industry and seeking to forge itself into a renowned tourist destination worldwide.

It was ranked 6th in tourist satisfaction among 60 tourist cities nationwide in the third quarter of 2012, with a score of 83.81, according to a preliminary report released by the China Tourism Academy.
