Sanya launches campaign to clear city’s homeless beggars
Recently, Sanya launched a campaign to remove homeless beggars from across the city.
This is the city’s latest attempt to deal with homeless beggars. Official staff and volunteers delivered food and clothes to the beggars, persuaded them to stop begging and provided assistance to send them home.
Officials said they will increase patrols in areas where the homeless gather, such as Yuechuan Bridge, No.1 Market, Guangming Road, Pedestrian Street, the Train Station and underground passages.
This year, the Sanya government has helped 749 homeless beggars.
