Benefiting from the flourishing tourism industry, Hainan is becoming a weathervane for the development of yacht industry. At present, over 37% of the country’s luxury yachts dock at Sanya.

After the 3 consecutive Hainan Rendez-Vous exhibitions and variety of other yacht shows successfully held in Sanya, the city has seen the establishment of 5 high-standard yacht marinas and clubs, attracting vessels made by the world’s top yacht brands to dock at the city’s ports.

As of now, the number of yachts docking at Sanya ports has reached 200, with 160 calling at the marina of Sanya Visun Royal Yacht Club, consisting of 30 sailing boats and 130 power boats. The figure is expected to continue to grow in the next 3 years.

Hainan now has a total of 5 large marinas and 35 yacht clubs, with 6 to 8 yacht manufacturers establishing branch offices here, and the number is growing. And there will be more than 13,500 yacht berths in Hainan to accommodate the upsurge in the region's yachting industry by 2015.
