The rail section between Sanya International Phoenix Airport and Sanya Station of the Hainan Western Ring High-speed Railway is expected to be completed by 2014. To date, 7 roadbeds, 14 bridges and culverts, 2 tunnels and one station are under construction.

This section of the Sanya railway spans a total length of 10.253 km from Sanya Phoenix Airport in the west to Sanya Station in the east and encompasses Phoenix Station, Sanya West Station and Sanya Station.

With a total investment of about 27.55 billion yuan, the Hainan West Ring Railway stretches for 343.95 km from Haikou to Sanya with 13 stations in 6 cities and counties and Yangpu Economic Development Zone.
