Prices of individual tours to Sanya have dropped by 10% in the winter season, which more commonly sees travel prices skyrocket.

This situation can be seen as the government’s determination to crack down on the tourism rip-off problems reported earlier this year in order to rebuild the Sanya tourism image.

By the end of this October, a credit system for the Sanya tourism sector had been set up consisting of 114 catering businesses, 62 hotels and hostels, 7 scenic spots, 10 wedding enterprises and 10 supermarkets.

According to some local travel agents, a 4-day individual tour from Guangzhou to Sanya including round trip air tickets and hotel accommodation can cost as little as 923 yuan.
