Sanya has been awarded the honorary title of ‘China’s Best Green Meeting City of 2012’ at the 5th China Meetings Industry Convention (CMIC), which was held in Beijing on Dec 3rd. Sanya was awarded the title for its program of environmental protection, special ecological environment and its range of conference centers and facilities.

With the rapid development of the conference industry in recent years, Sanya is building a bridge between this industry and the boom in tourism, by developing unique low carbon MICE tourism products.

Sanya has gained a reputation as one of the best green meeting destinations in the world after successfully hosting the 2011 BRICS summit, which triggered a boom in the tourism industry, the MICE tourism industry in particular.

The China Meetings Industry Conference (CMIC) is the largest and the most influential annual conference in the China’s meetings industry. It functions as a high-level platform in which experts within the domestic and international meetings industry discuss problems, share their experiences, and make future appointments.
