Sanya Deputy Mayor Gu Jingqi met with the former Prime Minister of Mozambique Mário Fernandes Machungo at Sanya Shanhaitian Hotel on November 29.

Mr. Gu extended a warm welcome to the prime minister on behalf of Sanya Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government, and said that the two regions have enjoyed a good relationship for many years and have many similarities in the natural environment, resources and the development of tourism & agriculture.

He mentioned that Sanya government has great interests on expanding cooperation on modern agriculture and the construction of infrastructure facilities to promote two regions' common development. He added that this meeting is set to be a new beginning for exchange and cooperation between Sanya and Mozambique.

Mário Fernandes Machungo said that there was such a well developed airport and so many high buildings when he visited Sanya 15 years ago, he was deeply impressed by the fast changes and rapid development of the city and hoped this meeting would improve cooperation in more fields in the future between Sanya and Mozambique.
