On November 22, Sanya Bainian Vocational School (BNVS), the only free-of-charge vocational school in Hainan, received a donation of 2 million yuan from China Construction Bank (CCB) at a graduation ceremony held at Horizon Resort & Spa Yalong Bay.

The Sanya BNVS was jointly founded by the School Board of BNVS in Beijing and the Hainan Youth Hope Foundation in 2010, and it is the school subsidized by the Hainan Project Hope’s Vocational Education Fund, offering free-of-charge tuition to all its students.

As the first tuition-free, non-profit charitable vocational school in China, BN Vocational School (BNVS) was established in Beijing in 2005. It provides free regular vocational education to students from underprivileged families.

A representative of Sanya BNVS said that the school has received a great deal of support from all levels of society including Horizon Resort & Spa Sanya, which provided classrooms, dormitories, student canteens, teaching and living facilities for the school for free and CCB who provided 2 million yuan for building the school and supporting education in August of 2011.

To date, more than 300 children from rural families in Hainan have received free-of-charge education at Sanya BNVS and gained employment after graduation.
