Organized by official GNEV mechanism and D1EV.com, Global New Energy Vehicle Conference 2013 (GNEV Conference 2013) opened on 8th Jan in Haikou, Hainan. Hundreds of corporate chief executives, government officials and experts from all over the world will take part in the Conference from January 9 to 10, and share their views on new energy vehicle market in China, prospects and development strategy for the market.
 
Initiated by EV Future Co. (D1EV.com), a leading global platform for new energy vehicle information and trading, the annual conference of GNEV has been held three times since December 2010. The Conference is supported by Information Department of Hainan Province Science and Technology Department of Hainan Province.
 
Pang Yicheng, CEO of official GNEV mechanism and D1EV.com delivered a keynote address on the opening forum. He said, The 2012 Conference’s theme was Open the Door to the EV Market which was not realized, and China is still lagging far behind of the United States and Japan in the promotion of NEV sales in 2013. On the other side, Micro-EV in China maintained strong growth last year, whose annual production scale has reached 200,000 units. From this perspective, China is leading the international NEV market. Pang said, The Conference will focus on the prospect of NEV market in China and the measures we should take.
 
Zhao Qinghui, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Department of Hainan Province attended the Conference and said, NEV is green and advanced transportation tool which fit Hainan, the international tourism island. Hainan has made great progress in the promotion of NEV industry and will be a key participator in the whole nation’s NEV promotion. Zhao invited corporate chief executives and experts to participate in the market development of NEV in Hainan.
 
Other guests giving a speech at the Conference include: Chen Wanxin, Deputy Minister of Information Department of Hainan Province, Ye Shengji, deputy secretary general of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, Zuo Yan’an, JAC former chairman and vice president of Anhui Federation of Industrial Economics, Pan Xiaofeng, General Manager of GSR Ventures, Mattew, Engineering Director of GM China and Jiang Rencai, PR Director of Daimler China.
 
GNEV Conference 2013 includes two main forums, three parallel forums and closing forum on such themes as new energy passenger vehicle, new energy bus, Micro-EV and transportation revolutions, etc.
 
At the closing forum, officials from Beijing, Hangzhou, Hefei, Guangzhou, Germany and Canada shared the experience of green transportation and smart transportation in different cities. Delegates of Boston Power, Maxwell, Dongfeng Nissan, JAC, Chang’an, BYD and several Bus City Groups gave speeches on market strategy and technology innovations.
 
In addition, Report of 2013 Global New Energy Vehicle Development, Report of 2013 Global New Energy Passenger Vehicle Development, Report of 2013 Global New Energy Bus Industry Development and Report of 2013 Global New Energy Passenger Industry Development will be released by D1EV Research Institute during the Conference.
 
Organized by D1EV.com, Annual Green Car Award will be held in on January 9, which has been held three times since 2010. 19 awards including Car of the Year, Passenger Car of the Year, Bus of the Year, Micro-EV of the year, Innovation City of the Year and Innovator of the Year, etc. will be revealed.

Main topics covered included energy saving, sustainable development, technology and business model innovation, government guidance and exit strategy and the relationship between public opinion and EV industry development and so on. Constructive consensuses have been reached.
